Whitetail Land Surveying is owned and operated by me, Douglas Smith.
I'm a graduate of St. Cloud State University and a Licensed Land Surveyor in Minnesota. With over a decade of experience in Land Surveying, I began my career by working for a family-owned surveying company in Minnesota. I soon didn't see surveying as a job, but more as a passion that I hope to share with my children.
By utilizing advanced measuring equipment, Whitetail Land Surveying is able to provide a final product to clients that we can take pride in.
I use Carlson Software and Topcon Positioning Systems – which are both time-tested companies that have helped shaped the world of surveying into what it is today.
I get asked frequently why did I choose the whitetail deer?
It is the most fitting animal for a land surveyor in Minnesota. Just like the deer, a land surveyor must tackle all types of terrains from wet marshlands to steep hillsides. Some days a surveyor may spend an entire day in a remote area without seeing another person but is very likely to come in contact with a deer and all the other nature Minnesota has to offer.
